I have found a 1998 JD 855 with hydrostat, 70A loader, 7 backhoe and 54" box scraper and rippers. It has 239 hours, garage kept and seems to be in excellent condition. Good maintenance records. Has what sounds to me like a hydrolic pump howl at idle and while operating. Not sure if this "howl" is normal. Need Help?? Asking price is $19,900.00. Have got him down to $17,500.00. Any feedback is appreciated ASAP.

Forgot to mention JD 855 is 4X4 and although the tractor has 239 hrs., the backhoe has only 40 hrs. Owner has all manuals and service receipts. ....

My local dealer has a 855 4X4 with 400 hours on it. The machine has no loader, no backhoe, and no mower. The machine is in like-new condition. He is asking $9,750. Hope this helps.

I have a 855 with 650 hours the hydro whining you here is normal. There noisey you will get used to it. There a nice
little tractor.

I just bought a real nice 855 at a Pa. Equipment Auction.Tractor has 285 hrs. 4wd.,Loader,Belly Mower,Turf Tires,Ps. Tractor is in very good shape. I had been looking for about 2 months and nothing met my needs as far as assessories,hrs.and pricing I could afford. After comparing what was available for 2months I felt I made a good purchase at 12,300 Hope this helps. ....

I recently purchased a JD855, 2wd w/70A loader & 72" belly mower with 910 hrs for $10,500. And yes, it does have a high pitched whine which appears to come from the hystat pump. ....
